------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There are times when living where I am just makes me so happy. Like yesterday when I went out on my balcony to eat my tomato sandwich to find this looking at me, looking as startled as I was, to find her in my backyard. I muttered a "bleep" Me! and slid back into the den to grab my camera, of course the downloading wire was still attached to the camera but I didn't dare take the time to unwind it and unhook it as she looked ready to bound away back into the woods!
I loved the patches of sunlight coming through the trees and as always amazed at how sheltered our area is and how comfortable the wildlife is back here. Some of my friends think the animals are sick, like the pictures I shared of our raccoon friend who came out in the middle of the day, but like this doe, it's 2pm, normally a time you don't see them when you live in the city but they feel protected enough to come out. Here she is looking up right at me, she is nearly under the balcony's edge.
I love taking pictures of deer, as evidenced by my blog header, that was taken up at Catoloochie with the Elk, but there is something special when they come into your backyard. I thought this picture in particular was darling because it looks like she is blowing me a raspberry as she leaves, headed back into the woods...as if to say..."See, I wasn't afraid of you at all. "
These are the little moments I am grateful for.

Priceless Sandee,
As I looked at each photo I was actually holding my breath in case I made her take flight...but each photo just got better than the last!
You would make a fantastic paparazzi photographer...peeking through the plants!
That shot of her looking right at you is amazing ;D
...oh Sandee how blessed are you with the presence of this beautiful creature and right there under your nose! and to think she gave you time to get your camera too, gorgeous piccy's Sandee well done on this wonderful posting today...Mel :)
Hi Sandee, she is really beautiful and how amazing that she came so close to you, what a gorgeous little face she has. You are truly blessed to live in the city but to get lovely wild visitors the way you do.....Crafty hugs, Anne x
You are SO lucky! When I lived in NC, the only wildlife who came into my backyard was a black snake, and I nearly had a heart attack! This is a beautiful deer, her chocolate Brown eyes melted my heart in the photo where she is looking up at you. Really nice capture with your camera BTW.
oh my!! i love these photos!! just perfect
This post has made my day. I miss where I used to live in the woods of RI- although I now live near the coast of this tiny state, I rarely see the creatures I used to at my old place! I used to put food out for the deer and watch them eat daily....oh beautiful His creation! All! Thanks for this!
Like Neesie, I was holding my breath, but I was also reading in whispers - IN my head! Lol. Funny how some pictures can make us do that isn't it? These are amazing shots Sandee, well done! What a beautiful creature and such a joy for you to have her come so close and not be spooked. Lovely lovely :0)
What beautiful pictures, Sandee! I was reading a blog recently where the author talked about taking the time to actually LOOK at your backyard and you'll notice some amazing and wonderful things. Spot on, my friend!
I love that picture on her looking right up at you!
I was holding my breath too! I was so afraid she'd hear me and run away!
Sandee -- I can't believe you got that close. I'm following you on Pinterest and thank's for the comment you sent me at http://morningdewdrops.com. I finally created a FB page, when you have a minute, if you would like, please go to my blog and like the FB page -- just trying to include everyone with like interests. Thanks Terri
Great photos and doesn't it just make your day to have mother nature (and a deer) just wander into your life? Looks like you've got a beautiful yard space to entice visitors! (can I come?)
OMGosh!!! That picture where she was looking right up at you is breathtaking to me! Wow! That was soooo cool! :):):)
As usual, fantastic photos, Sandee! Just a perfect close up of her looking at you! Superb!
Always a joy to visit your blog, we never know what you will post next, altered paint brushes in toilets then deer in back gardens. Love it all. BJ
You are SO lucky. If you lived in my neck of the woods (OK, outside the city), she would have been met by many rifles. After all, this is HUNTIN' country. What can I say? I live around a bunch of rednecks and you live in a protected wildlife area.
Awesome!!!!! I can see you almost tripping as you were running to get your camera. Did you? Did you almost trip? ;)
