Looking at Words: a photo contest

Submit a photo you've taken that illustrates a Merriam-Webster definition in an interesting way
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you scrapbook? I am a chronological scrapper, everything in order.

If you are a chronological scrapbooker, how do you begin the album? Mine have been elvolving but still consistent with how I go about it. I always list the year on it but the first page establishes a feeling/theme that I feel is relevant for that year.
Here is last year:
2012 - which focuses on my photography, I took a class that year learning on how to take better pictures and how my camera works. ( Also trying to learn new things including new scrapbooking styles...look at all that white space! That was a big leap for me! ) I also included my word of the year..focus. Love seeing that little detail.

2013 - seems to be reflective on how far I have come. It's about the achievements and the fact that I keep evolving!

Thanks to Tracy Weinzapfel and the
May 2013 Creative Dare - DEAR ME...
This was truly a mind bender...I thought and thought and thought....I even had the all the elements, just not the words.

Tracy says this:
" Take a break every now and then and pat yourself on the back.  Applaud yourself for doing what needs to be done.  And be careful not to spend so much time looking at how far you still have to go, that you forget to appreciate how far you've already come."

And I thought and thought and thought some more...and finally I came up with this. It's not a letter but I think it's perfect in it's own way.

I had to include my business card.

And I loved adding in a real paintbrush dripping some paint off it onto dreams.

Faber Castell - black gelato, Pitt Pen
Crafters Workshop - brick stencil
Golden - Molding Paste
LiquiTex - colbalt teal paint
ColorBok - butterfly
Prima - bling

Paper Smooches May 13-19 Designer Drafts challenge

As you can I took the version on the right and instead of banners I used 3 fish with bubbles going up instead of the straight line. On the right side of my card, I took 2 colors of blue paint and coated my bubble wrap and pressed it down. After it was dry I ran it through the printer using the free digi stamp for the sentiment. Love the bright yellow bow against the turquoise paper.

Love the bright colored fishes!

AND another Gelli print sheet used ( very proud of myself to be using these prints! ) The butterfly is also from one of my prints, that was used as a mask.

I made a banner stamp out of foam sheet, used my VersaMark pad and embossing powder to give them some texture and shine

I only added some doodling around the letters of the chipboard as the natural grey matched so perfectly with the color of the Grotesques.

Well, some of you might remember that I am working on using up the Gelli prints sheets from the other day. This one is created from one of the run off sheets. 2 different ones to be exact but I think they make a lovely combination together.

I embossed the background with my wood grain embossing plate, topped off with a little bit of ink to help bring out the texture.
My favorites are the leaves which I fussy cut out after embossing!

365 Cards - Day 131 Put it in your Pocket
All that Stickles - Cotton Candy Linky party
Inkspirational - Challenge #19

You know, put a pink glittery balloon on a gift bag and I'd be happy. Nope, it doesn't take a lot for me :) Of course, one that holds a gift card makes me a little happier and this one does slip out of the bag for ease of shopping! :)

I love this background paper, it's a flocked embossed texture that feels so good to run your fingers over.
Added lace to the inside of the bag to emulate tissue paper. I do recommend adding a bit of wax paper into the bag to keep the glue from adhering the bag together. The handle is created the same way from a piece of twine.

The balloon is sitting on a glue dot and I tried to shape the balloon over it to give it a more rounded look. I spread some stickles over the balloon and then outlined with the same color. Filled in with some glossy accents.
