Where do the cards from hell go?
They go into my private bin to be sent to friends, they are cards that for on reason or another cannot be sold. Let's take this one for instance, shall we?

This card has caused me so much trouble right from the beginning. First I really don't make ladybug cards, and it's not because I don't like ladybugs ( I love them ) but I don't like the Cricut images that I have. So I finally decided on one. Now I need female birthday cards and I could NOT find a sentiment I liked for my ladies who buy my cards and it took me like forever to find something I liked.

Not starting this project off well, am I?

Next, the striped paper has a torn edge which I didn't realize until after I was gluing it down. Then, after all was said and done and re-done, I put the yellow background complete with printed sentiment and lady bug, on UPSIDE down and didn't notice until the glue had all but dried. Tore it apart, cussed a little bit, and did it over, but at the last moment scrunched the yellow paper this time inserting it into the photo corners. ....sigh....really?

Even taking a picture of this card turned into a chore. Had the perfect place and then, wham, bright sunlight complete with shadows. Seriously? Even when I got around to editing it I can see little paper dusty thingies on it, you probably can too if you enlarge it. But as for me, by and large, I don't care, I'm just glad it's done!

Hello to my wonderful WOYWW friends.
First I want to thank EVERYONE who voted for me, sadly I didn't win, but it sure is nice to know I have such wonderful friends who took the time out to vote and encourage me on. I will still have the book made ( and they will give me 2 ) so I plan on giving one away.
So keep tuned for that if you are interested. :)
((( big group hug )))

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well, just in case it isn't I added a few words of my own on it! HA! The Gardening Mojo is stronger than the Creative Mojo today but they are fighting for equal control over me on most days.

Hope everyone is having a fun peek around the world :)

I didn't have a Smooches stamp that I felt would work with the gold theme so I used the free digital stamp, which I love. Those gift bags are too cute and very easy to color! I'm not sure this is a CAS card but since I sell my cards; my customers want a little more layering and frou frou sometimes. And my girlfriend birthday cards for the ladies are my top selling cards, so I cannot disappoint them!

The gift bags were printed out twice. Once on the base card along with the sentiment and then on card stock where I used several different golds to get different textures and dimension.Cut out the image and then pop dotted up it up.

and I have used image439 - Wired Robot Framed

I love his little embossed face and his big bug eyes!
This little guy was printed 3 times, once on regular card stock and twice over Aluminium Tape which was adhered over copy paper. ( Heat embossing it each time. ) Cut the antenna out from one image and adhered it over the card stock image. Then cut the eyes out from the other image and pop dotted them over the the card stock image.

I have to admit that I wouldn't have added the heart on my own, but sometimes God likes to craft along beside me and he had me smudge the corner, and he also guided me to find something to cover it. Now that it's done I think the red heart was a perfect addition and cannot imagine it not being there.

I made a hand painted card for a very special person in my life, she always inspires me and always has something nice to say to everyone. Since she paints, I drew her picture onto a canvas with one of my favorite quotes.

I wrote small words on the paint tubes.

update: Tracy blew me away last night with the joy that she got from my card. Sometimes you never know if what you've done is appreciated, but she made me feel TRULY loved and I adore her for feeling that way. You can go here to her video she made last night, showing my card. I think I'll keep that video link forever so if I am ever down I can go watch it. ♥

Word Trend Watch

Knaidel
Knaidel means "dumpling," defined as "a small mass of leavened dough cooked by boiling or steaming." It is a German-derived Yiddish word.

When:  Lookups spiked on May 30, 2013

Why: After finishing in third place two years in a row – eliminated both times by words of German origin – 13-year-old Arvind Mahankali spelled knaidel correctly to win the 2013 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

now for the controversy:
New York: The national spelling bee spelled it wrong.

Or so say mavens of Yiddish about the winning word, knaidel, in the widely televised Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday night. Knaidel is the matzo ball or dumpling that Jewish cooks put in chicken soup.

But somebody may have farblondjet, or gone astray, the Yiddish experts say.

To read more, go here.

Until then don't get your knaidel in a twist ;)

The flower and small golds beads are so old that the packaging no longer exists. The wired beads came from my Christmas wreath box ( the one I use to change up my wreaths from time to time ) The felt flower button is about 5 years old and the gold leafing is about 10 years old. The crown was in my die cut scrap bag, haven't a clue where it came from. The orange paint is from my stock, it's a large bottle, been there forever!

Here begins a new adventure for the Art MoB: bird plaques. I had Genuinely Jane Studios custom make them for me at a 5x7" size. I have to say I am really enjoying altering them.
I sewed the wooden bead and small gold beads through the felt button before adhering it with 450. I scraped the leftover 450 that gets on my finger over the birds wing and then gold leafed where it was sticky.
( The wing is made from chipboard. )
The tail is made from a large flower folded in ½ with the botton sewed through the fold to keep it nice and tight.
