friendship rose

This is part 2 of the try out for

I made a rose from a piece of my handmade paper that I created with my Arnold Grummer Papermill Kit (using a recycled shampoo bottle that I snitched from a hotel stay for the vase) and wrapped the bottle in a beautiful Dazzling Diamond Adhesive Sheet from The Buckle Boutique.

I began by gathering some supplies that I thought would work well together.

And I started by making my rose. As you can see I used a plastic lid to create my circle from which I cut a spiral out of. Then I had a fabulous idea, to give the paper some shimmer using my Colour Arte Twinkling H20's. I got out the colors, Fairy Plum and Purple Sage to adorn the rose "petals" with.
Then, once the flower was drenched in it's soft brilliance I wound and curled the "petals" to my satisfaction adhering it with my Helmar 450.

I just love my tiny rose in it's little vase. It can brighten up any corner it sits in.

Love, Love, Love your rose. I really should see about making my own paper, you seem to have loads of fun with it and make beautiful items.

Beautiful rose, Sandee. Love that you used handmade paper. I still have a stash of handmade paper from my paper making days. Hmm....may need to pull it out and try this on a few pieces.
