Clicking

Entering my card in:

Used the free printable from the Capture files, they have lots of darling printable there for free! I cut mine out, added some Ranger's Silver stickles to the flash and some Glossy Accents for the lens cover.

For the background I used my Ranger Spritz tool with my Tombow marker for a speckled look and added some sequins after I stamped the sentiment.

Nuance of Summer

What does summer mean to me?
For me, it is hiking in the woods where you can beat the heat under the shady canopy of trees.
It's cooling off by strolling along the creek looking for rocks to stack.
It's sitting on your balcony at night watching the lightening bugs display their own special light show.

Used the Tombow markers to color the trees on the stamp, then spritz with water for watercolor effect. I used a fan brush to add splatz of color with my watercolors.

Brush

A tool used to apply paints and inks to a surface, consisting of hairs, or bristles held in place by a ferrule attached to a handle. The quality of the hair determines the brush’s quality and cost. Each type of brush has a specific purpose, and different fibers are used for different mediums.

I just love this cute little card I whipped up last night using my pipettes, inks and pens. Very simple, very easy and lots of fun!
Isn't that the way it should be?

I firmly believe that the key to this type of art being a success is the outlining, which brings in all the ragged edges and letting your outline be loose.

I choose to pull from the colors of the photo inspiration to work with, in a CAS style.

I stamped the image twice so that I could cut out the spool and wrap it with sewing thread, then added my own needle to it.

The background to the tag was created by spritzing my inks on a piece of wax paper. Then I pressed my tag down onto the inks and dragged it through the colors and lifted it up and let dry. Then went back and spritzed the tag with water and dabbed at the spots with a paper towel.
The polka dot swirl sticker is offset from the tag, so to keep the sticky back from sticking to everything I rubbed a little bit of baby powder on the sticky part sticking off the edge.
( Now how many times can I use a variation of sticker in one sentence.... 5, it seems! lol )
Since the hemp ribbon is thick and part of my pitcher is laying on top of it, I used the LSD to lift up the remaining pitcher and stuck the twine into the glue before it firmed up. The pitcher is cut out twice, with one cut having the handle removed so that I could stamp off the base and that gives it a dimensional look also.

vichssyoise: noun

is a thick soup made of pureed leeks, onions, potaoes, cream, and chicken stock. It is traditionally served cold

an interesting tidbit....
"The origins of vichyssoise are a subject of debate among culinary historians; Julia Child calls it "an American invention", whereas others observe that "the origin of the soup is questionable in whether it's genuinely French or an American creation".Wikipedia

Last night we celebrated Barbara's birthday, Shirley had us over for a dinner and social hour ;)

We started off with champagne or wine ( of which I drank way too much wine and woke up during the night with a headache and dry mouth, 2 Advil Migraines and a glass of water and I was back to a very deep slumber, wine is powerful, lol ) with deviled eggs and shrimp for appetizers.

then first course which was light and creamy vichyssoise with green onions... and wine....
Then the main course a delicious curried chicken salad and grapes..more wine....
Laverne, Claire and the birthday girl Barbara :)
our hostess, Shirley :)
Barbara's showing off her tray that she got from Shirley, the bracelet I gave her is already on her wrist. Kay made this adorable hand knitted bracelet that I bought from her Etsy Shop, I hope you check it out :)
she also got this clever book from Marsha

A pound cake with a lemon custard and cream cheese frosting then stuffed with black berries, blue berries, strawberries and pineapple that I made. Everyone seem to like it :)
And I hope no one minds me saying that the highlight of my evening was the attention that I got from Kylie, I swear she is smiling at me! :) Does anyone have an, easyfree program for adjusting pet eyes? I know there are a lot of pet lovers out there!
