So...the story goes like this...one day ( a couple of years ago ) I was trying to make a canvas based on Typography, and it was a big
I don't even remember what the bottom letters spelled out, but it was some kind of message about love...blah,blah...
I hauled it out a couple of weeks and did an acrylic pour over it hoping to cover everything up and well,
that turned out so bad I didn't even take a photograph of it, lol
Yeah...there's that out in the open too.
7pm
Then last Saturday night I decided to just add paint... and basically anything else I could get my hands on. I even used a die cut flower that was on the floor under my desk...yep, slapped that puppy on and added more paint, more stenciling, and more mark marking. ( I was trying to channel Mary Beth Shaw )...
Now if you are looking at the face...well...truth be told I actually used the actual stencil itself. Yep, it was that kind of day, I glued that sucker right on the canvas.

Now I've decided to start work on bringing the woman out a little, decided she can't be shy hiding in all those layers of paint! I'm thinking I need one large scribbly word next to her...must sleep on that one and see what tomorrow brings.

Now, I always have best intentions to wait...to sit on a piece and really think about it but sometimes I can't even sleep overnight on it and I find myself crawling out of bed to go work on it. That's what happened last night!
In the meantime, I am entering this in

Don't you love it when a disaster you thought you'd torch becomes something so awesome you could kiss it? Ya, those are the best kind. Congratulations that should sell quickly. The texture is really immersive, makes you want to go "read" the braille of it. Happy PPF!
I love how this turned out! I think it'll be out of your hands quickly :-)
Wow! This is brilliant!!!
Wow you nailed it. I am so glad you pulled that old piece out and reworked it. You did an amazing job.

What a beautiful transformation!!!
Wow I love this piece, it looks quite atmospheric to me. The texture is absolutely fantastic and how the face sits (well the stencil lol) within all that texture is absolutely fantastic. I absolutely love how,you were inspired and to include this in our Europe Challenge with AALLand Create. Thank you. Tracy x
I totally love that you took something old that you didn't like and turned it into something new! You've inspired me to dig up some older stuff and take another look!
Sooo stunning! Great piece of work! Very inspiring for ITAC, I want to join too! Happy PPF - Irma

This came out so beautifully!
Well that turned into a very very happy accident! You just have to listen to what your creative energy says to do...otherwise it goes onto another artist!! Stunning work. In that second photo intuitively I see a large bear with it's back to flat rock stairs, that are butted against the water!! Great job...by the way your ppf link isn't working this week...maybe reenter it!!

Wow! I love it!
OMG...this is me too! Your post and honesty has has affirmed that I'm not alone, there are others out there painting because they can't sleep. And I will remember your words when I have a canvas or journal spread I don't like and don't know what to do with.
Your canvas turned out beautifully. The textures from all the failed attempts are what "make" it. I know it will sell.
Now why don't I get up during the night and create a masterpiece like yours Sandee? I love the textures too... like braille.
You must be thrilled with the outcome and I'm sure it will sell :D
Congratulations on being feature on PPF.
Happy PPF to you

I can't find a way to follow your blog!
You did an amazing job by letting go of the old and do a fresh makeover! What a fantasic work in the end and yes the textures are beyond yummy!!!
Isn't it so satisfying to see the transformation through from beginning to end? Wonderful piece! I love seeing the steps.
