a process of change in a certain direction
I am so excited to be a new Design Team member for Try it on Tuesday!!
All their challenges are considered a "anything goes" medium, which I LOVE that freedom to create anything I want!
This week we are sponsored by:
They are offering 4 digi stamps from their store so go and play along with us!
This challenge is called "Let's Get Inky"...couldn't be any better than that, huh? It did get me to thinking about my progressions with ink, In the beginning I used it for stamping only, then I began inking the edges to my mats, which lead to inking embellishments....and then somewhere along the way I began inking everything when I discovered sprays and stains!
Can you remember your ink evolution?
So, for this project, I took my Ranger Distress Inks: Salty Ocean and Broken China and just went straight from the pad smooshing ( technical term ) them across the background. Then spritzed with water and used bubble wrap ( a highly developed tool ) to blend them together.
the white blotches ) adding with my Faber Castell Pitt Pen the word LOVE. To finish off my wall hanging I used the Distress Stain: Faded Jeans around the edges, doodled a little with the American Crafts Marvy marker in white. Wood beads and twine round off the piece so it can be hung.
So all in all I used 6 different colored inks on my 6 x 12" wall hanging. I can't wait to see what you make for this challenge, after all I know a lot of inky ladies out there ;)
So go join in for some inky fun, the prize for the month of December is from:
AGH!!!! I'm so proud of you!!!! See, it just took time. *giant squeeze hug* Oh, and I read a book once where the main character was given the Midas touch but with chocolate--everything he touched turned to chocolate and everything he drank became chocolate. He gave the gift back. I mean, seriously, you've gotta have milk to wash it down. Or wine. ;-) SO PROUD!!!
ooh wow this is amazing! I love the background and the chocolate covered earth is fabulous! You have made me want to go and play with my inks but I must get on with my Christmas cards first - I am a bit behind! xx
Wonder how you did that perfect white lettering, Sandee...
Love your hanging, as it is totally what I have been thinking for many times (especially, when having no chocolate left at home in the late evening). Such a lovely idea! And the chocolate cover looks awesome... have to go buy some chocolate immediately.
Hi Sandee, a totally fun wall hanging, absolutely gorgeous colours and love the earth covered in chocolate...... Hugs, Anne x
Welcome to the TIOT boat - new to me too! ENJOY!
oh sandee this is just so fun!! i love it
Congratulations Sandee we are so happy that you have joined us on the TioT's team.
Love your hanging and that Chocolate earth is stunning.
a fab make with bags of personality! trace x
This looks amazing! I love the sentiment and the chocolate covered world!
You asked how I've made the card for TIOT - as you have a no-reply blogger account, I have to answer via your own blog... (if you leave comments with questions more often, it's better to change this - please e-mail me if you want to know how to change this...). I've put a description of how I've made the card on my blog now.
Congratulations on being on the DT! Love your project : D. The background with the smooshing (great term btw) is stunning.
I'm afraid I'm not very inky. I use reinkers for dyeing my fabric, and for a few background techniques. I've even dyed a few embellishments. But I haven't gotten into those spray inks and ink pads like so many people have. I know it's been a good eveolution for you, though.
Very cool. I absolutely agree, the world would be a sweeter place covered in chocolate!
You are very prolific in your crafting!!!
That is so funny! I love the depth of that blue. :)
Love the technique, great tag!
Evelution is a fun to look back on, I even went to making my own sprays and stains, still use my pads when I don't have a color made up and I need to finish RIGHT now.LOL Your tag is great, loving the background.
Yum! What a fabulous first project... so fun and funky, and very inky! Thanks for the inspiration!
Your creativity knows no bounds!! So So cool!!!
