y'all: plural second-person pronoun

Is a contraction of the words "you" and "all", Southern, Informal

It's Wednesday, and what does that mean?
it's WOYWW...which means means 'what's on your workdesk Wednesday'!
where we get be nosey and snoop......errrr visit each other :p
and what's on mine, you ask? did you ask?
My altered book and the current pages I am working on!
That's whats on my desk and all the stuff that goes with it ! I am just having a world of fun with this project and would love for y'all to join us over at Altered Book Lover  where we are on lesson #4, and if you want to see every one's progress, their links are at the bottom of Elizabeth's post!
I'll be posting the layout  (you see on my desk ) to my blog tomorrow if you want to see it better :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now onto my AB progress
Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lover gave us some assignments this week and I really enjoyed this one. All my elements on this page came from the pages I had torn out when "thinning" the book. I FREEHAND cut EVERYTHING...lol...can you tell I impressed myself? It's been hard to not add pen, ink, stickles...I'm not kidding you, but I wanted this page to have a unique twist to it. I like the design incorporating the pages of the book itself.

The only pen used are the quotation marks and the author of the quote.

the assignment:
4. Create a double page spread using gesso as both the background AND the glue to which you will add your page elements and embellishments.

I first spread the gesso on the page, let it dry and then applied the second layer, while it was still wet I add some drops of blue paint and then using my spreader to mix it into the gesso. I had precut my sea weed and coral beforehand and had a dry run for the placement of everything so I was able to lay them directly onto the wet gesso. The coral is the only element that I used the gesso as glue, everything else was glued down with Helmars Acid free Glue.

The small bow on her tail and the flower in her hair are supported by Helmar's Liquid Scrapdots, so they will not get flattened. One of my all time favorite glues. This page has been weighted down ( after it was dry ) by my Big Shot, just to show you how well these delicate pieces are staying dimensional!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now Ms. Julia wants us to keep it short, and I failed miserably but then you can't expect a girl to behave every week.....can you?
Ok, now this is where I'll be sitting with my laptop while visiting your blogs.
Outside on my balcony, sipping ice tea, listening to the birds singing, and and feeling the sun shinning on my toes....
ahhh this is the life!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saving the best for last! I got my WOYWW button in the mail yesterday and little monkey mojo is proudly displaying it! Thank you Julia, you are too sweet to do this!

I'm totally impressed with the page where you used gesso. That underwater scene feels so real, even when you used pages from your book for your mermaid. This is one fantastic page.

I somehow feel you were probably shorter than I was on my Tea Tuesday post, but a bit longer than my WOYWW post (grin). Thanks for the visit earlier today (well, today still in my world. And of course, I am totally in LOVE with your AB. Happy WOYWW from #3.

What a tidy desk. Your page looks wonderful. Free hand cutting, you're my hero.... I've not heard of Helmar's Liquid Scrapdots. Where do you purchase them. It's been pouring down rain here, but we need it badly so I shall not complain. Altered books look like loads of fun, one day I may have to give it a go....just never seem to catch up with projects already begun...See you later. Have a great week.

Your AB is looking fantastic - mine is sitting on my desk waiting for me to get over this bug so I can get back to it. Your gesso experiment turned out beautifully; still have mine to do.

BTW, I love that you always add 'waving hi from the hills of NC' - I remember instantly who it is and plus it makes me smile. I can just visualize you sitting on your porch/patio waving away. I'd love it if you'd send some some sunshine to the NW!

Your 2 page spread look amazing! I'm still plodding away, although I did get my glue experiment pages done.

Cold and somewhat windy up here in NY! Hi y'all!

At the rate you are going Sandee you will have finished your book before we all get past lesson 8 but I love what you are doing.
Can you read my mind? I was going to use cut-out pages for my gesso pages but not mermaids obviously, unless they have wings which I doubt. Yours are beautiful and turned out fine.

Hi, Sandee, thanks for your cheery comments over at my blog. ::waving back from the rolling hills of upstate NY:: I love watching birds, too -- I don't think either of our feeders is visible from my workspace. The teal bin was found in the Target dollar spot -- for $2.50 -- and I wish I'd bought more than one! I'm in awe of your altered book pages. Maybe someday I'll get into that. I need to get more comfortable with mixed media first on smaller projects, I think. Wordily yours, Laura #152 :)

That book is really coming along, I love what you are doing with it. Thanks for stopping by my blog-you should get a flower frog, it makes the vertical cards fit better in the photo shot, I've had lots of success with it, feel less frustrated when taking the card pics. I found mine at a yard sale, but antique stores might have them too. Have a great week!

Thanks for stopping by, Sandee! In answer to your question, Bob's your uncle is an expression commonly used mainly in Britain and Commonwealth nations. Typically, someone says it to finish a set of simple instructions to mean, "And there you have it", or "You're all set". Sometimes we say "Robert is your father's brother" just to be funny!

Love your AB - the pages look fabulous!

Your pages are looking fantastic. I love the bow on her tail.
Thanks so much for the comments you leave me every Wednesday. They always make me smile. I had to go back and look at the precarious plates and see what you mean. They are my pot saucers and I just throw them up there when I've washed them out!!
