Ranger products:
Distress paints, distress stains, alcohol inks

Tracy used:
You have many reasons to smile
We are all in this together
You are amazing just the way you are
Life isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn good

I just love the turquoise, lime and pink colors in this piece.
I just couldn't muddy it up with brown ink.

The backgrounds were created with my Gelli Plate. The small background piece was run through my embossing machine with the leaf stencil. It didn't show up as well as I hoped so I used some Distress stain to paint in the leaves a little so they would stand out better.

I accidentally discovered that if you apply sprays over the paint and then wipe off, they inks stick to the embossing paste beautifully. Really enjoyed that surprise. :)

The dragon fly is cut out of a shiny silver card stock so I used alcohol inks to cover the body first and then went back with the Twinkling H20's for some glimmer.

All the major work on this card was done on the background. I think sometimes I can get more wrapped up when creating my own paper than the actual design of the card itself. Anyhoo....I first used Broken China along with water, spritzing, and drying, but it still was too dark. So after I finally achieved what I hope for will pass as a sky, I let it thoroughly dry and then sprayed it with my Archrival Varnish and let that dry. Then, I went over the background with a white wash to soften it up somewhat. Stamping the image and sentiment was the easiest part. ;)

pronunciation

The background to the tag was created by spritzing my inks on a piece of wax paper. Then I pressed my tag down onto the inks and dragged it through the colors and lifted it up and let dry. Then went back and spritzed the tag with water and dabbed at the spots with a paper towel.
The polka dot swirl sticker is offset from the tag, so to keep the sticky back from sticking to everything I rubbed a little bit of baby powder on the sticky part sticking off the edge.
( Now how many times can I use a variation of sticker in one sentence.... 5, it seems! lol )
Since the hemp ribbon is thick and part of my pitcher is laying on top of it, I used the LSD to lift up the remaining pitcher and stuck the twine into the glue before it firmed up. The pitcher is cut out twice, with one cut having the handle removed so that I could stamp off the base and that gives it a dimensional look also.

I was glad to see Nina, Allie, and Linda use the sketch for cards ( because everyone is submitting lay outs ) and it sure makes me comfortable when the DT thinks outside the box!

I added some of my own "special" touches, like the camouflage hunting cap to the bear and the rub on words "fun times" to the tackle box. I like adding onto stickers, it's so easy and fun to embellish them.

When I saw this image being used by one of their DT members over at Card Makin' Mama's, I just knew I had to have it. It's a digital stamp offered by From the Heart Digital Art Stamps called Martini Chicks. I think it will be a big hit at the store and couldn't wait to try it out. Very easy to color it in too!

Have you ever made a card just because you couldn't resist the image, only to find yourself with no place to add a sentiment? Well, that happened to me but I'll bag it up and see if it sells, lol It was a free Cricut Craft Room cut ages ago and I've been holding onto it, trying to figure out what to do with the darn thing. I'm tired of thinking about it though, so off it goes!

I love her glittery nose ring. I applied the stickles on her before adding the muzzle layer, that way I didn't have to worry about getting stickles on her face.

EDIT: Uhm, evidently I don't know my cow "parts" very well, I inadvertently referred to it as a "he" when it is a "she", thanks Francesca for pointing that out. Made me laugh when I opened my comments up this morning, you are udderly correct!

Little Yellow Bicycle - Special Summer Challenge

blue suede shoes:Elvis  ( 1955 )
Blue Suede Shoes  ( 1956 )
Blue Moon of Kentucky ( 1954 )
Since we could be creative with how we interpret the 50 challenge, I went with the music of Elvis Presley from the 50's.Evidently he was a little blue during the 50's ( oh, and how I was in love with him! If I had been old enough I would have thrown my panties up on stage for him....just sayin'. lol ) So I decided to go with a blue monochromatic card in honor of the King himself.

And here is my card with it's millefleur background:
I admit, I love to hand stitch around my cards, I think it's a left over urge from my cross stitch days. I used 3 variations of the running stitch. The outside border is the dusky blue, the oval is stitched in white. Then the sentiment strip is offset with alternating blue and white floss. It's a great way to add both dimension and detail to your cards without adding bulk if you are mailing it.
The butterfly is a clear cut which I completely covered the back with glue and adhered it to a piece of white card stock and then fussy cut it out. That way the different pattern papers aren't showing through the delicate image.

You can't see because the flower covers it up but the birdcage is sewn through the paper. The flower stems are paper that was torn using the water technique and then once glued onto the canvas is then rolled using your finger tips.

Welcome to WOYWW, a slightly different version today. Instead of my boring desk, I will share with you one of my favorite crafting storage areas. It's located right behind my desk and has a lot of products that I use on a continual basis. If I had a massive desk, they would be up on it...somehow. From this shot you can see that I just swivel my chair to access anything back there.

I like to think of it as "organized chaos".
My white wooden stand is a laundry shelf that was made to go in between a dryer and washing machine. It's also on wheels so it can be moved easily if need be. The contraption that holds my foam paint brushes is an old toothpaste holder that is usually inside those medicine cabinets.
I go go into a lot more detail of the things back there, but I don't want to bore you because I know you have a lot of desk to visit today, so happy snooping!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If for some reason you are interested in my diet, or dieting tips that I am trying out, feel free to peruse the Journal of a Lazy Dieter tab at the top of my blog. If you do happen to go over there to visit me, please leave me a like so I know you are supporting me, I need all the friends I can.
