I used the colors above in watercolors, the shell is done through The Crafters Workshop stencil. Hand stitched the ocean sea caps with some french knots.

Now I am beginning to experiment with how ink sprays do on my handmade paper. I think it accepted the ink very well, not sure why I was worried about it since I have been stamping on it, lol I like my very CAS card using the sketch prompt from Sketch Saturday. It even went through the printer with no problems...whew!!

I love simple, easy to make cards, no stress = happy card maker! The most time was in arranging the sentiment to go around the butterfly shape, which I did on my Print Artist program.

Aud Sentiments - Challenge 85 - With Sympathy

Along with many of you, I agree that sympathy cards may be one of the most difficult cards to make. I think the reason is, it's because it's such a tender time in someone's life and you want the card to reflect the importance of the moment.

I used one of my Gelli prints for a background sheet, love the way the butterfly picks up on the colors of it. I also really like this sentiment for a sympathy card.

So here I am, assembling my layers and I put the glue on the wrong side of the ice cream...:/.....what to do? Eclectic Paperie - E-Team Picks Challenge - Monochromatic

All the major work on this card was done on the background. I think sometimes I can get more wrapped up when creating my own paper than the actual design of the card itself. Anyhoo....I first used Broken China along with water, spritzing, and drying, but it still was too dark. So after I finally achieved what I hope for will pass as a sky, I let it thoroughly dry and then sprayed it with my Archrival Varnish and let that dry. Then, I went over the background with a white wash to soften it up somewhat. Stamping the image and sentiment was the easiest part. ;)
