Effervescent thank you

Summer days, for me, are usually spent outside chasing the butterflies around with my camera, the silly little buggers are laughing at me as they flit away...I know this as a fact.

To create my card I first began with a base sheet of watercolor paper. I took a stencil and added some ColourArte Twinkling H20's to it. To get a nice blotchy look to the outside of the butterfly I first "juiced" up the Twinks by adding water to them and letting them sit for a minute.

Then I dabbed a little bit onto a piece of parchment paper and pressed down around the stencil.

Then, after I got the effect I liked I began adding other colors to the inside of the stencil with a paintbrush. I tried not to be too heavy-handed in this part of the application but still, I managed to get some seepage under the stencil.

I needed to let it dry before going on to the next step but I'm too impatient to let it sit and dry on it's own so I removed the stencil and used my heat gun to speed up the process. When it was nice and dry I came back and outlined the stencil to define my image.

Then to cover up my mistake enhance my image I used my black Tonmbow marker to color in the butterfly. I even like the fact that the marker doesn't completely cover the Twinks but lets the sparkle shine through.

Thanks for visiting...flutter on...
