“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
― Pablo Picasso
So the question becomes, what is mixed media? According to Wikipedia it is an art form combining more than 1 medium. Traditionally that meant a combination of paint, ink, and collage . So, I tried to stay in that definition, but instead of collage I used die cuts. I also love adding a hard material like wire and beads and found objects like costume jewelry are always a plus!
I also have been working hard to incorporate more handwriting into my art and this always creates quite a bit of angst when putting pen and ink to paper. But in the end of completion with this sign I was totally loving how it turned out and very pleased that I had leaped out of my comfort zone to do it.
If you would like to see the entire wall hanging then please visit the Susan K. Weckesser blog {my sweet earth} where I am honored to be a guest designer. I hope you stop by and check out everyone's work over there, they are very talented!
