hyperventilating: verb

To breathe in this manner as from excitement or anxiety
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well ladies from WOYWW,  this will be a short ( for me ) post today as I am trying to get ready for my first ever craft fair. A friend asked me to join her in her booth and I said yes. Oh gawd, why am I doing this to me? I hate people who don't buy, walk pass or worse, nonchalantly thumb through my stuff and walk away.

nevertheless, I said yes...so

Desk 1...painting and papering display boxes

Desk 2...painting signs

Desk 3....filled with goodies to take to the craft fair

3 days!! Can I get it done? Will anybody buy anything? Will the world come to an end?

aaacccckkkkkk.....breathe, breathe.....
any suggestions? advice?

back to painting, papering, and hyperventilating...

It is nerve wracking Sandee, and all your preparation is really admirable. My top pest tip is to have something to do while people are browsing...if you aren't seen to be watching, they're happier to browse. Price clearly...if they need to ask, they won't. And if you're with your chum, relax and have fun!! It will be worth the effort...and don't take non-sales personally, it's just about matching the person to your style...you have to do a few of these things.....!

Take a deep breath, and let it go! You'll be fine. Smile lots and chat away. That's what I do, talk to people, makes a real difference. Hope it goes well, be sure to let us know. Take care, enjoy WOYWW this week, I know I will! Zo xx 73

Hi Sandee, Good luck with the craft fair. I have done a few many years ago. Here's a tip ... Just keep smiling sweetly when people stop at your stall and say "Oh yes, my cousin/sister/best friend does that" and then they just wander off. Thanks for visiting my blog. I may do a little book review/s about those books as enough people seem to be genuinely interested in them.
Happy WOYWW!

Hey, all the prep work is looking good and you have a large variety of things for people to thumb through. Craft fairs are such tricky business, sometimes everyone wants something and other times nobody wants anything. I hope it goes well for you! Happy hyperventilating!

Looks like you have some lovely stuff for sale - don't worry, it will be fine. First one I did we had an unexpected snowfall overnight and we ended up half frozen, with very few customers - so it can't be that bad!

Hi Sandee, you certainly seem to be well organised and have all your ducks in row so far. I can't offer any better advice than Julia's, and you'll meet all sorts of interesting people there ... it sounds like great fun. I believe the best treatment for hyperventilating is to breath into a paper bag :) Too late to wish you a happy day today but here's wishing a successful first ever craft fair day. Elizabeth x #68

You will do fine! Your stock looks so inviting and I am positive you will sell loads. I am not able to join in with WOYWW today but last week you asked what the tubes were on my desk. One is Pinflair Glue Gel - a clear an odour free alternative to silicone glue. The other is Photo glue. Stay positive and breathe! xx

Good luck on your event. ;o) You will do well and should have fun. I was hoping to make it to a fiber and craft event this weekend myself. But as a customer! I love seeing what everyone has done.

Happy WOYWW. It's funny that you write: "I hate people who don't buy, walk pass or worse, nonchalantly thumb through my stuff and walk away." I always thought it would be more rude to just walk by without looking/appreciating what someone had made. I actually find myself feeling guilty for not buying more at a craft show . . . although often I am just searching for "the perfect gift" for my sister-in-law, etc.

Best of luck! Hope you sell out! :)

Try and relax about it and, well, are you a girl like Gladys who told Ellen "I love Jesus, but I drink a little!"? A little morning mint julep won't hurt. Mostly tell yourself that you are doing this for your friend, NOT for yourself. That way you will be tickled if they love you and buy your beautiful stuff (how could they not?!) and not be disappointed if they're stupid, I mean, uninterested. Good luck and have a great week! You've put so much time and effort into everything so if they don't buy, there is something wrong with them. I just know you will do well with those fantastic goodies.
