CAS - Clean and Simple
If you aren't familiar with Twinkling H20's, they are a hardpan watercolor cake that is activated with water. So I first "juiced" mine up by pouring a little water in the jars and once they were activated I poured them onto the texture tray. Then once they were on the texture tray I spritzed them with a little more water and spread them around letting them blend together.
Next, I took a sheet of my handmade paper and laid it on top of the texture tray and ran it through my Big Shot machine. A big help when using a texture tray is adding a sheet of silicone rubber between the acrylic cutting pads. It really helps the paper to mold to the grooves in the texture plate!
Just look at the lovely shimmer on the paper and how deep that texture is!
My next step was to create the butterfly by stamping it on a sheet of handmade paper with Versamark ink and embossing it. Once the embossing powder was applied to the image I then used my heat gun to melt the embossing powder and cut the images out.
The embossing powder acts as a resist so I just spread out the ColourArte's
Ginger Peach over the entire image and it soaked into any area that wasn't embossed.
Next, begin building your card base. The first layer is a sheet of blue handmade paper, on top of that is the embossed paper that was texturized and treated with the Twinkling H20's, next comes the butterfly and the sentiment.
The butterfly is created by layering the solid image on the bottom and the textured image on top using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots in between the layers for added dimension. It will dry hard and give the separate layers sturdiness even when placed in the mail, the butterfly wings will not bend and be crushed.
