rowel: verb

to goad with or as if with a pointed disk at the end of a spur

 vex, trouble

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Creative Inspiration - Inspired by Anything Goes
Inkspirational - #34
I swear, I think the same letters used on the CASE are the same ones I used. I had these rub-ons like forever and they were not user friendly because they were printed so close together that it was like impossible to cut them apart to use, so in the spirit of Donna Downey, I just took the whole sheet of the blasted things and rubbed them onto the base of my card. Problem solved, now they are gone!

I took my distress ink and rubbed it across the rub-ons, just love the resist it creates, the bird was dipped in the melting pot of UTEE and the chipboard branch was cut free hand and tinted with the same distress ink.

My Mind's Eye - rub-ons
Cricut - French Manor, p. 39
Martha Stewart - doily
CARDZTV - sentiment stamp
Ranger - distress ink, melting pot
Recollections - pearl

redbrick: adjective

built of red brick
or
of, relating to, or being the British universities founded in the 19th or early 20th century
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
( Currently it's raining and I sure could use some galoshes/wellies to get out and about today. I thought I'd carry the theme of showers even farther along by using a Rainy Day sentiment. )
Card Makin' Mamas - No Pattern Paper
( second entry )
Inkspirational - Challenge #14 Color Inkspiration -  pink, banana, and slate
( Was not sure if slate was grey or blue, but it seems the DT projects used blue, at least that's what if looked like on my computer screen. I didn't have a slate blue ink so I used Broken China. )
Technique Time Tuesday - Water Stamping
( OK, so my stamping techniques really stink, hence why I try to learn new things. This one really bombed for me, lol Here is a picture of the rain boot after stamping with my Hero Arts background stamp following the steps...I just need to practice more. But I HAD to try it, I mean water stamping and a Rainy Day card just went hand in hand. )

Since you could not make out the flowers from the stamps; I glued some on where they were suppose to be and added a pink rhinestone to the center of each.
I altered the Prima rose by removing the rose core and added a matching rhinestone to it.

Cricut - Paisley cartridge, p. 49 ( taken to the CCR to stretch the boot to fit the envelope )
Prima - large flower, leaf
My Mind's Eye - rhinestones

Card Makin' Mama's - Green
( the pattern paper is a lime green but photographed yellowish )

#17 of 30 Mother's Day cards in 30 days challenge issued by the Art MoB.
I love speech bubbles, maybe it's because I wanted to be a cartoonist when I was a little girl, but this trend makes me smile!

I added Helmar's Liquid Scrapdots under the butterfly wings and used their Gemstone Adhesive  to glue the pearl body on. I also doodled around the outside edge of the base card to emulate the white dots on the speech bubble.

My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist "Happy Go Lucky"
pattern paper, speech bubble, and butterfly
Helmar - Liquid Scrapdots and Gemstone Adhesive

abandon: noun

a thorough yielding to natural impulses; especially : enthusiasm, exuberance
( not to be confused with the verb abandon...huh? No wonder they say that English is a very confusing language. It confuses me! )
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my introduction post over at Frosted Designs, would love for you to go over there and leave the "Monday ladies" a warm welcome....and me too while you're there! ♥
I also hope you play along with us!

It's time for one of the hottest trends out there over at Frosted Designs - CHEVRONS
( But not one of my favorite trends, I don't really like busy patterns, so after I lifted my head off the desk from moaning and groaning that my first post just had to be something I don't do well... and searched for a chevron paper...I discovered I had a couple of different ones... which surprised the heck out of me! )

Nevertheless, in for a penny, in for a pound...I made 4 banners, alternating with the chevrons and red and layered them on each other. Cut a blue strip and made a topper with the sentiment with 2 gemstone brads. Decided to put the banners over hounds tooth paper ( I mean as long as I am using one busy paper, I might as well use another busy pattern, lol ) as this will go into the masculine birthday section over at the Art MoB. The finishing touch is a thin red strip on the top and bottom of the card.

While I might not love chevrons, I do love having a sense of humor  :)
and hope who ever receives this also has one!!

Glitz, Oh what a Dame - chevrons, blue and red paper
Pink Paislee, Bayberry Collection - Hounds tooth paper

trousseau: noun

the personal possessions of a bride usually including clothes, accessories, and household linens and wares

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, every once in awhile I get an idea for a card in my head that I just can't shake loose, and worse, have limited products that would work for that idea. Ever since Cath, over at Moxie Fab issued the Camera Craze challenge, this idea has been bobbing around in the tiny area known as my creative brain. So I figured I'd use what I had and work around it.

I had this camera stamp by Sandy Lion and stamped it on My Mind's Eye blue paper, then cut it out. I also had a desire to use metal because of the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, is Metal-ology so I took a piece of wire and bent it into a round shape and filled in the area with Ranger's Glossy Accents. It slipped a little when I poured in the Glossy Accents, but I still think it looks great :)

Next I drew the mouse around the camera stamp and cut him out. Took a sheet of Scrappin Sports yellow paper, drew holes and cut them out with my Fiskars Fingertip knife and then laid it over a scrap of darker yellow paper. Shaded the holes for depth with my Faber Castell PITT pens. I also used my metallic gellato inside the ears and on his cute little nose.
I love, love, LOVE my Helmar's Liquid Scrapdots!!! I was able to put some under the spiked flash and the camera button so they won't get bent when mailing. How cool is this stuff?

Printed out the sentiment using Traveling Typewriter font and matted it on the same blue paper as the camera.

pronunciation
♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣

Create a piece using your Life List/Bucket List/List of Dreams

If you are a somewhat regular follower of my blog you will know that one of my dreams has always been to have my art for sale in a gallery. This past September I achieved that goal and I am so happy that I made the leap of faith and did it.

I dedicate this piece to that dream.

During Tracy's Monday Night Video session she played around with a gelli plate making prints. Since I didn't have one; ( but love to paint along with Tracy ) I used a sheet of wax paper taped down and tried to emulate the gelli plate process as best I could.
This is what I came up with.
Apple Barrel - white
Deco Art, Patio Paint - Petunia
American Traditional - stencil ( old, from a home improvement store )

Next I took my Distress Stain and painted in between the stencil, using water to blend it out. I also used a marker to go over the white stencil to bring it out.
Ranger - Distress Stain, Barn Door
Faber Castell - PITT artist pen, white

Then I added my quote with stickers and rub-ons.
Recollections - Glitter Alphabet Stickers
My Mind's Eye - Sundress "Bloom" Rub-Ons
Reminisce - white pen

At this point ( when I am finished with most of my wet products ) I add a backing to my board, which is a piece of chipboard. I added detailing in the form of a white outline around the perimeter and then used the technique of dipping my Distress Marker into the spray ink and outlining the stencil and adhering a gem.
Rangers - Distress Marker, Spun Sugar
and Dylusions bubblegum pink
My Mind'e Eye - gem
Helmar - Gemstone Adhesive

The last touches are adhering the butterflies, and the cord to hang it with.
DCWV - Shimmer Stack
NRN - lace vellum
Cricut - Paisley cartridge, p. 40
Really Reasonable Ribbon - hemp cord

Lovely dimension!
Helmar - Liquid Scrapdots, tape runner

finished wall hanging

euchre: verb

1: to prevent from winning three tricks in the card game euchre

2: to cheat or trick

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's WOYWW today, that means fingers cramp and eyes strain from trying to visit the hundreds of ladies around the globe and nose around their craft desks!

OK, so I had a few people from last week wanting to know if the tube I attached under my shelf was working out and the answer is yes and no. No, the scissors didn't work out there as I capped the end of the tube which made it too short and the scissors kept falling out...then I tried keeping my eye glasses there figuring it would be a nice spot so they wouldn't get dirty or scratched, but I'm constantly changing back and forth and frankly am just too lazy to keep putting them back. Currently the tube is housing a hole punch, needle nose pliers and wire cutters until they get put back into their usually assigned place. Other than that, a card I am sewing on takes main precedence on my desk today.

Big News alert !!( cue trumpet )
When I went to upload my picture, I had actually my browser box back to upload from my computer, lol Wonder if it will be there tomorrow, or is Blogger just euchring with me?

Simon Says Stamp and Show - What are you known for?

So Simon poses the question: What am I known for?
hmmmm?
Interesting question, isn't it?
OK, my bloggy friends might answer it quickly with my "waving hi from the hills of North Carolina" signature :)  or my Word of the Day fixation...
My crafting friends know I love to hand stitch on almost all of my projects and that I am published in the Cricut Magazine.
And my real life friends might say I have a quirky sense of humor and never answer my phone!

I guess it just depends on who you ask...and if you ask me...
Well, obviously it's my stunning beauty and effervescent personality!
stop laughing, pick yourself off the floor now....sheeesh
