zarzuela: noun

a usually comic Spanish operetta

( honestly, I don't see being able to fit this into any conversations I hold, lol )

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got the words from Pinterest and unfortunately didn't google the author until after I had already finished my piece. I say unfortunately because there was so much more to this and I wish I had read the whole poem before I began.

I wanted to share it all with you. This poem was written some time ago. The simple statements contained in the poem can be applied to everyday life. It really applies to everyone in all walks of life. We can learn a lot from trees if we just take the time to look and listen.

 Advice from a Tree

by  Ilan Shamir

Sink your roots deeply into the Earth
Think long term
Go out on a limb
Remember your place among all living beings
Embrace with joy the changing seasons
For each yields its own abundance
The Energy and Birth of Spring
The Growth and Contentment of Summer
The Wisdom to let go of leaves in the Fall
The Rest and Quiet Renewal of Winter
Feel the wind and the sun
And delight in their presence
Look up at the moon that shines down upon you
And the mystery of the stars at night.
Seek nourishment from the good things in life
Simple pleasures Earth, fresh air, light
Be content with your natural beauty
Drink plenty of water
Let your limbs sway and dance in the breezes
Be flexible Remember your roots
Enjoy the view!

A beautiful poem Sandee and a beautiful wall hanging, I can see that you put some of the words on the sides, it would be a lovely to have a copy of the whole poem on the back - but you have probably done that already! Hugs, Anne x

I love thet poem and how you interpreted it. Your wallhanging is so ethereal and so evokes, in me, the essence of the poem. Great work!!!

Ahem, your behavior at the party last night was just so zarzuela-like. How's that??? LOL

I don't know how you do it. What's in that brain of yours?! This is beautiful. Love the colors, and love the sheerness of the dove. The material is wonderful, or whatever you used. What is your base? Do you put a write-up with your hangings at the ArtMob? Your story behind it makes such a connection. You are just so talented, lady!

"The Wisdom to let go of leaves in the Fall " - that's just beautiful! Love the poem - thanks for sharing (love poetry very much indeed and sometimes try to write some myself ;)

Your interpretation is really to the point - it catches that softness and deep felt thoughts of the poem very well!

Hugs from snowy-wet Vienna,

These colors make me swoon. Fresh and fabulous. "While attending zarzuela a while back..." Not an easy word to introduce into a conversation for certain. :o)
