not letting the bad stuff get you down

This is a 6" x 12" wall hanging created on chipboard.
The background was made entirely of Faded Jeans Distress Stain. Once applied the board was spritzed with water. Then heat set.
The dancer and the umbrella are 2 digital images that I merged and printed out. Then I cut it out and painted it black with acrylic paint and adhered it to the board.
The bottom of the board was created using the Faded Jeans Distress stain and the Sail Boat Blue alcohol ink, but used in the opposite direction as the water dropplets. I was hoping to achieve a puddle splashing effect with my ballerina dancing in the rain. The entire board is edged with my charcoal pencil and smudged.

Hi Sandee, the blue against the back is gorgeous, I love the dancer and the sentiment. The way you have created the rain makes it look totally realistic - great job!! A x

Wow this is fabulous! the image and quote are so cool and the rain is very effective. I love the colour too xx
oh Sandee - I LOVE this one! (do I say that every time? hee hee!) The effects you got with the inks for your back ground are amazing.
I saw on your next post that you have put off buying panpastels. I have to tell you that I invested in them and have not been very successful:( I guess I should take a class or two. My biggest problem is that no matter what I try, I can't get them to stay put. They rub off on everything. Anyway, just wanted to tell you that for your consideration - maybe just get a couple to try and see if you like them, don't do what I did and buy a big set before trying them out!
Happy Thanksgiving my friend!
Hi Sandee, I absolutely love this piece. Do you sell your artwork?. If so, would it possible for me to buy a piece like this? My sister is a dancer, is going through a hard time right now, and I think this is just what she needs to help cheer her up. Please contact me at kygerse@gmail.com.
