improvise: verb

to make or fabricate out of what is conveniently on hand
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wishing all my WOYWW ladies a happy day filled with lots of crafty goodness!
Here is my desk area...I have my "light area" set up to take a picture of some product. I wish I had a light box, well, sometimes I do anyway. I really don't have the space for it if I owned one. I have 2 pieces of white board taped together, which I prop up to use for photographing cards and small items. It works pretty well, considering what it is! lol
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rodaina from Egypt sent me this adorable card:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you to everyone who e-mailed me about concerns from Hurricane Sandy. We all did pretty well here in the mountains, strong winds did some damage and we lost power some, but all in all we are very lucky compared to the people who live up north of us on the coast. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

My tag for the Tim Holts 12 Tags of 2012. ( October )
I saved it for Halloween Day!

I didn't have the tissue paper but I did have the Tim Holtz Tissue Tape - Symphony, so I used that, crumpled it up and spread some acrylic paint on it and did use a hand wipe to blend. Then sprayed it with my Tattered Angels glimmer mist. ( Now I did have the Ranger Perfect Pearls, but it hasn't been opened yet, I'm one to use up a product before opening a new one, and I still have some glimmer mist left...frugal...very frugal I am! )

I used the Cricut Craft Room to weld together the word BOO  ( from the CCR font ) and a spider web ( Happy Hauntings cartridge ) onto Tim Holtz's Grungepaper ( I really love this stuff!! ) I painted it black with Apple Barrel's acrylic, and then used my Ranger stickles , Black Diamond over it.
I didn't like the spider that came with the web cut from Happy Hauntings ( it looked like a tick, not spider like at all, lol ) so I cut one from Cricut's Paper Trimmings, and repeated the same steps as the webbing. I also had to improvise for the ticket and used my Hero Arts - Calender stamp, to create the ticket and added a Reminisce word sticker. Last touch was the orange spider eyes...errrriiieeee...:)

Happy Halloween y'all!

So glad to hear you are alright, that storm is one big worry and what on earth did you do to get a storm like that named after you.

Great desk in action shot.

Really glad you survived the storm - was thinking about you ! Expect the weather will sweep across the Altlantic now & roll the remnants of the storm over us in Wales!

Gorgeous tag. I love how you improvised. My idea of taking the inspiration piece and running with it.

Glad to read you are safe, even if you are still in the aftermath of the storm. Give me a good old tornado any day (grin).

Hey Sandee, nice to see the window aspect of your desk. I'd imagined rolling hills but I guess they are out the back! Are those more Timmy products I can see??? BJ#35

So glad you're okay with that storm. Not good with geography in the USA, so wasn't sure if you were near of not. I love your little Halloween tag, so cute. That card you got from Rodaina is so sweet.
Have a great week, stay safe.

I'm sat reading my WOYWW blogs on my sick bed this week but have my mask on so you don't catch anything. I'm enjoying reading what everyone is up to this week [it's better than reading magazines :-) ]. I'm leaving a copied comment so you know I've called by because my hands are too weak and shaky to keep typing out my comments this week.
Big hugs,

So glad all went quite will in the recent bad weather for you.
The tag is fab and I think I need to get me some Black Diamond stickles, it gives such a fab finish! The spider eyes are quite scary, haha.

Love the long shot of your desk and I'm impressed with your answer to the photo booth - I've been toying with thoughts of buying a portable model and relatively inexpensive solution I've seen on Amazon, just not made up my mind yet. Lovely card from faraway lands and your tag is spookily fantastic :) Glad to hear that you've not experienced the worst of Hurricane Sandy's force. but scary nonetheless. Have a happy WOYWW and a better week, Elizabeth x #76

Hi Sandee,

Isn't Roudi just too dang cute! She sent me a card too.

Your tag looks great, by the way. Improvising is the way to go. Who says you have to have every single product to create something that you've seen. That way you make it your own!

My house is a disaster area -- so no desk sharing for me this week!

Glad you were far enough inland to not get affected too much by Sandy (you should tell them they spelled it wrong). My thoughts and prayers are with those that are affected.

Hugs,
Kay

Very cute tag and glad to hear you were not in the midst of that terrible storm. We in Florida have been pretty lucky the past few years on the west coast, but sooner or later we will get hit again. Have a great day. I did not post today.

I have watch the tv in horror as the devistating storm racked our east coast, thought of you many times. Yes, out here on the west coast we are just waiting for the shoe to drop. Been having small earth quakes all around us. I do love the tag you made.

Love the tag and how you improvised parts you didn't have. I'm also impressed that you use up one bottle of stuff before opening another bottle by a different company. That's a good practice. Quite a fancy ribbon on the fall card you got from Egypt. Cool stuff! Glad to hear you weathered the hurricane.

So glad you made it through the storm. Living on the west coast, we wait for earthquakes... Your tags are just beautiful! Love how you altered it up!

BOO! I love your tag..and yep, the orange spider eyes are genius..but horrid!! The light is looking pretty good for October, and especially as you were in the path of the storm...very glad to hear you're unscathed.

Glad to hear you missed the worst of the storm damage. Our nephew is down near Philadelphia, but seems to have come through safely, just with the loss of power. I pinched one of your ideas recently, two sheets of white board to give a good background for photographing cards etc. it works quite well. Have a good week. xx Maggie #42

What a great idea for the 'light area' will have to bear that in mind next time I struggling to take a picture. I usually end up using the bed covers as my back ground as they are white!!
Must addmit I always feel guilty if I open something before using up the previous thing.

Great minds, Sandee! I was just coming to see you. Thank you for telling us how you fared in the storm; glad you made it through it w/out too much trouble. It's definitely a sick mess in a lot of the East.

I may try that white board setup now that we are coming up on the gray rainy season. I don't have, er, want a space for a light box either, but need to do something when the sun isn't shining.

LOVE your Timmie Tag!! A perfect save for today. That spider is hairy scary with the red eyes!!

Have a great week! Darnell #63
