boudoir: noun

a woman's dressing room, bedroom, or private sitting room

Oh la la... such a lovely challenge from The Shabby Tea Room! The theme is Vintage Boudoir using the colors in this photograph plus a sewing themed embellishment. {Sewing embellishment could be something such as: lace, ribbon, pins, stamped image, seam binding, machine sewing, faux sewing, buttons, zipper, bobbin, spool, needle, etc.}

I really loved that dresser and that mint green and knew I had some of that in my card stock..and I knew I had some Prima paper with butterflies on it that matched.....can we say oh la la again? Oui? Bon! All I needed was the perfect sentiment...and look, there it is from Our Daily Bread Designs, lifting you up in prayer....on the wings on butterflies :) tres magnifique! ;)

[ Don't worry, that's about the extent of my French, lol Well, actually I know a little more but not sure how I can fit in "My name is..." and "where is the bathroom" into the post! ]

So without further ado...my card!

 Now one of my favorite things to do is to 'fussy cut' an image from the paper I'm already using and alter it a bit and reuse it as a element. In this case it was a butterfly, and I stickled it every so lightly and then used some Liquid scrapdots to lift one wing just slightly off the paper. I love this effect!  The ribbon is attached with sticky dots , something that I totally forgot I had until I cleaned out a space on my shelf and was like "oh wow", and brought it out of their retirement! The sentiment is stamped on a piece of vellum, then embossed and laid on a paper clip that I simply opened and straightened the bottom half, leaving the hook on the end so I would have a 'surface" to glue the butterfly onto.
- Prima Sparkling Spring Collection
NRN - vellum and Blue
stickles - Star Dust
ribbon, paper clip- misc.
Our Daily Bread stamp - Mini Tags 3
floss- DMC
assorted chalks
Therm o Web Die Cut sticky dots
Helmars 450 and Liquid Scrapdots

And just to show you that first attempts aren't always perfect, here is what the card looked liked after I ruined it by adding the sentiment stamped on a heart. It just didn't flow, I didn't like it one bit! lol
I'm glad it was fixable anyway, I just pulled off the heart which was attached to the paper clip so that meant my paper didn't tear, and then just re-glued the new butterfly back on top of the paper clip :) Volia! ... oops, I did promise no more French words, huh? oh well...I lied ;)
so merci, beaucoup for visitng my blog and adieu my friends!

Pretty card, Sandee. Like that you fussycut the butterfly and glittered it. Very nice. I took 2 years of french in high school, or maybe it was jr high, but my current vocabulary is about the same as yours. Funny what we remember! Oh yeah...Je m'appelle Pat. Did I spell that right?
