Looking at Words: a photo contest

Submit a photo you've taken that illustrates a Merriam-Webster definition in an interesting way
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you scrapbook? I am a chronological scrapper, everything in order.

If you are a chronological scrapbooker, how do you begin the album? Mine have been elvolving but still consistent with how I go about it. I always list the year on it but the first page establishes a feeling/theme that I feel is relevant for that year.
Here is last year:
2012 - which focuses on my photography, I took a class that year learning on how to take better pictures and how my camera works. ( Also trying to learn new things including new scrapbooking styles...look at all that white space! That was a big leap for me! ) I also included my word of the year..focus. Love seeing that little detail.

2013 - seems to be reflective on how far I have come. It's about the achievements and the fact that I keep evolving!

Thanks to Tracy Weinzapfel and the
May 2013 Creative Dare - DEAR ME...
This was truly a mind bender...I thought and thought and thought....I even had the all the elements, just not the words.

Tracy says this:
" Take a break every now and then and pat yourself on the back.  Applaud yourself for doing what needs to be done.  And be careful not to spend so much time looking at how far you still have to go, that you forget to appreciate how far you've already come."

And I thought and thought and thought some more...and finally I came up with this. It's not a letter but I think it's perfect in it's own way.

I had to include my business card.

And I loved adding in a real paintbrush dripping some paint off it onto dreams.

Faber Castell - black gelato, Pitt Pen
Crafters Workshop - brick stencil
Golden - Molding Paste
LiquiTex - colbalt teal paint
ColorBok - butterfly
Prima - bling
business card, paintbrush - my own :)

and entering this lay out in:

Adore your scrappages. Clean strong lines and colour. Super 2013 sentiment too. What a great year memory book. BJ

Awesome, sandee!

I just love your style which is so very unique. Cute and clever idea with the paint stains and it seems you rock that contest! Both LOs are absolutely great!

What a wonderful page Sandee! Love your business card and the paintbrush dripping paint!

I too love photography. I've taken a break from it the last year...but the last few days I have been feeling the pull of my camera.

I've really been missing my camera and my solitary walks to commune with nature and find my center and I was just now sitting and thinking about pulling it all out and charging it up when I opened up your blog to take a look at what you were up to. What serendipity!

Enjoy your weekend! I hoping to take a little day trip to St. Augustine tomorrow and have lunch with my husband on the balcony at Harry's overlooking the water. Planning on taking my camera and wandering the city a bit.

I'm headed now to enjoy a bit of time on the patio with a big glass of iced tea. The weather is beautiful in central Florida this morning!

Look how far you have come! Out standing 2013 LO!!! I've been looking for a good class to take to learn more about my camera, and improve my pictures. I do take my camera nearly everywhere and love taking pictures....just super slow at scrapping them...LOL

Sandee I love what you wrote on the 2nd LO. I think I should let my little 8 year old read it, she freaks out when she color outside the line and is petrified to try anything new. I love the addition of your business card and the brush with the paint drop are genius. LOVE that photo also.

Such great layouts. The second one spoke to me as I love what you wrote. I need to remember to let myself create without worrying about "staying in the lines". Your business card is one of the best I have ever seen! Love the paint drips too!

Sandee, this is just brilliant in EVERY way ... but mostly I love the sentiment of the words. Great heart and thought and emotion in those simple sentences. Awesome!!!

Sandee this really is fabulous. I love the sentiment - how true is that for a lot of us?! The paintbrush dripping the paint is an inspired idea and I love the use of your business card too. Sooo creative.
Thanks for sharing this with us at Anything But A Card this time.
Hope you are well too.

Oh, this is so wonderful! The layout is perfectly balanced, yet it's the little touches that steal the show on this one! The business card is fabulous, and the 'movement' from the butterfly perfectly guides our eyes. But by far my favorite is the pairing of the wonderful quote with the drippy paint brush. I caught myself trying to touch the paint! LOL! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful page with us at Anything But a Card!
