a room having glass roof and walls, typically attached to a house on only one side, used as a greenhouse or a sunroom. Conservatories originated in the 16th century when wealthy landowners sought to cultivate citrus fruits such as lemons and oranges that began to appear on their dinner tables brought by traders from warmer regions of Mediterranean.
Excitement of the day for me is being the Project of the Day over at the Cricut Circle Blog for my Owl card. It always puts a smile on your face to open up your comments and find someone congratulating you for something you didn't even know about! Thanks Cindy for letting me know! :)
Since I'm working on my last minute submissions to the Cricut Magazine, I don't have any cards to show you so I thought I would share some of the orchid pictures I took from the Biltmore Estates Conservatory. It's rather surreal to be surrounded by all the flowers when the weather is cold outside!
This is the view of conservatory as you enter the garden:
I am loving the urns they used throughout :
and the birdcages ( I really want to do this )
and the orchids were gorgeous:
and the towering palms:
off to run some errand, have a scraplisious day!
