Hope you enjoy the video on the wax paper transfer technique, I'm still learning and experimenting so have a lenient heart while watching :)

what I learned this time:
1. Don't talk too much while you have something that needs to applied quickly, lol

my version of the August 2013 TH tag as a 6 x 12" wall hanging:

I was able to use a masking technique using post it notes to cover my image. I used the same techniques as TH did for the background ( it happens to be the way I do all my almost all of my backgrounds so that worked out easily enough. )

Ranger - Distress Stains, vintage photo, brushed pewter, black soot
Inque Boutique - tread stamp
Reminisce - sticker letters
Primo - charcoal pencil
Golden - Gel Matte, Archival Varnish ( for inks and stains )
Spectra Fix - pastel fixative ( for charcoal pencil )

It's time for our new challenge over at Try it on Tuesday
Time flies
with our AWESOME sponser
where you have a chance to win a $15.00 Gift Certificate to their store!!

I made this little altered art doll back in September and have been trying to work her into a project ever since.  So, when TIOT announced the Time Flies challenge, I took her back out and lovingly thought I would like to incorporate her somehow into a project.
Now advance to the other day when I did a big desk clean up and rearranged some things around which meant I ended up with this unadorned box in my view. Now normally I can live with cheap plain boxes that I use for storage, I mean, their free, right?
But when it's on my desk, and I have to look at it ....well, that's another story!

So the 2 combined to be this:

I wrapped the Flashing Tape around the box, used a quilting wheel to add the debossed dots, laid a strip of Joint compound tape to the front, used a glue dot to fix the flower to the front. I stamped wings and heat embossed them on the same pattern paper that I used to line the inside, and my hot glue gun to adhere the ribbon and her. Printed out the sentiment, matted and outline it and then glued it on.

I think it looks so much better now on my desk, it makes me smile whenever I look at it.
And that makes me happy.

Really Reasonable Ribbon
metal flashing tape, joint compound tape
Ranger - Holographic embossing powder
Inque Boutique - angel wing stamp
Sassafras Lass - pattern paper
Rod - font
( making myself use a different font, although technically, it's still a typewriter font )

I hope you join us for the Time Flies Challenge!
