Along with many of you, I agree that sympathy cards may be one of the most difficult cards to make. I think the reason is, it's because it's such a tender time in someone's life and you want the card to reflect the importance of the moment.

I used one of my Gelli prints for a background sheet, love the way the butterfly picks up on the colors of it. I also really like this sentiment for a sympathy card.

butterfly - K&Co.
script paper - My Minds Eye

I am also very remiss in announcing the winner from Scraptown Lady's giveaway which I was suppose to do yesterday. I know this isn't much of an excuse but I dropped my cable company and got Netflix instead and am now currently obsessed with watching TV on my laptop instead of doing my usual routine of blogging and such. My apologies!
So without further ado....the winner is:

Congratulations!

  4. Hi Sandee,

Nice gelli plate paper! I really like the sentiment on the card.

I kind of know what you mean about getting distracted from your "normal" routine. This is my third week out and I've been spending most of my time reading - not much blogging, blog hopping and more importantly, crafting. I'm going to add some time to my schedule.

    Peace,
    Kay

  6. Well done, Sandee!

Your sympathy card is just perfect - not too dark (as they often are, which I personally think is horrible) and not too bright either. The tender texture and the warm colours of the butterfly make a wonderful company for the beautiful sentiment.

    Hugs,

  10. This is a beautiful card. I love the sentiment, I pinned it in case we do a remembrance picture display at the wedding. I'd love to include this sentiment. We just still aren't sure if it will be too sad.
