anniversary: noun

a celebration or other commemorative ritual marking the date of an important event

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, look at this. It's Julia's 3rd anniversary for WOYWW and we are having an ATC swap to celebrate it!

And by joining up with this weekly event I have:
1. Met and made some fabulous new friends
2. Seen how everyone crafts and learned a little bit about them
3. Spent all my money because of all the enablers out there in TH land ( you know who you are )
4. Learned some new vocabulary like gawping and chuffed ( my favorites ) and learned phrases like bits and bobs!
and
5. Learned how addicting it is to be nosey! :0

And what's on my desk? My ATC's that are ready to be mailed out! My ( little town ) post office is going to be waggling some eye brows at the addresses, I'm still dreading what the postage will end up being!  I have noted that some of the countries have very long addresses compared to the US anyway, I am still suffering from writers cramp! lol

So in honor of Julia, I am actually keeping my post short today ( it may be the only time I obey this rule, so enjoy it, lol ) Off to celebrate with the rest of the world!

  1. Hi Sandee,

I look forward to swapping with you, (as arranged earlier, hehe). My ATC swapper (on the list) is in Finland! And last year, my Pif gift came from Slovenia!! Postage rates (to send o/s) from here are exhorbitant, but hey, it's not often. Happy WOYWW 3rd Anniversary!

  12. Happy 3rd WOYWW!!
I absolutely share your sentiments about being part of this amazing network - it is simply wonderful. Loved the fact that you enjoy the new vocabulary - how about:
Clarty - when something is dirty or mucky
Tidy - in Wales, this means something pleasing to the eye, Brad Pitt etc, you get the drift!
    Gobsmacking - aka awesome
There are sooo many more :)
    Enjoy the ATC swapping!!
    Hugs, LLJ #77 xx

  15. Just having gawp at your desk and feeling un-chuffed because I missed out on one of your ATCs - seriously discombobulated (bet you haven't seen that one before).

    Have a great WOYWW.

  17. Hi Sandee, Not sure how this happened, but I put an asterik after my name when I missed it with the first post and it looked like it took, now today it looks like it is not there! So...... had planned to send an ATC to you and I informed Sara above me, but will see what happens. Guess I would need your address then.

  18. Sorry Sandee, I spoke too soon as I see my name did post after the fact for neil to send. I will still send one to you anyway if you send me your address. Sorry for the mix up. I didn't see any posts, as I forgot I have it moderated. Silly me! That's what I get for not posting for a couple of weeks. lol

  19. And I have learned a boot sale is like a garage sale and a bunting is really a banner, not a baby blanket. I'm just thrilled I was given the chance to "meet" all these people through this wild and fun blog hop we take each week. And I'm glad I got to meet you, too. Happy 3rd WOYWW Anniversary from #2.

  21. Hi Sandee,

That's a nice stack of envelopes!! I tried to schedule my post this week and it didn't work..... not happy with the new blogger interface.

I have a plug for Project Pinterest this week.

  23. Hi Sandee

Love your new profile picture! Did you have fun getting it all off your hands. Great post and I just know you are going to add more strange but descriptive words to your already expanded vocabulary!! I know that my sister-in-law who comes from Lyme Regis in the UK calls tourists 'Grockles' - sounds kind of endearing don't you think? :-) Happy WOYWW Birthday to you Helen 83

  24. Ohh! Glasses that match your WOYWW button-how fab! I totally laughed at how WOYWW loosens the pocketbook strings. I had that in my blog post but decided to change it because I don't want anyone to STOP enabling because of it. I used TH inks with my new blending tool on my ATCs, so we all learn things from WOYWW.

  25. Have fun trading those ATCs :) Happy WOYWW!

  27. LOVE your glasses ...and they match the woyww badge.lol
I agree about vocabulary ...such fun working out what other nations call things ...even translating a recipe ... and sayings are great.
Up here in scotland /fife a gloomy day would be... dreich and if you want someone to be quiet you say ... whist.
    Happy 3rd Woyww Birthday

  28. Hi Sandee, lovely post, had me chuckling over chuffed and gawping, words that we take for granted over here in the UK. You must be relieved that I confine most of my writing to English and not Scots ... now that would be something. Oh, I've just noticed LLJ's just added a few more to your dictionary :)) Love those frames, the colours are perfect. Waving happily from Scotland. Happy WOYWW and have a lovely week. Elizabeth x #96

  32. What a great post, Sandee! A terrific summary of what WOYWW is all about. Love your favourite British words and phrases - things we say all the time without even thinking about it lol!

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. Glad you like my latest art work. I'm afraid I am not taking part in the ATC swap as it was just one thing too many at the moment, but I do look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

I adore your WOYWW badge and matching glasses! Very clever to arrange that!

I had a lovely birthday, thanks - nice day out with my hubby, meal out in the evening, and meeting up with a great friend in the p.m. who shares the same birthday (who I made the little box and card for). Ah well, only 364 days till I'm 60!!

  33. LOVE those glasses, Sandee! Sounds like you made more than one ATC. I'm beginning to think I'm the only one who only made one! Maybe it will become a valuable collector's item, oh hahahaha. (I'm obviously still under the influence of the lunch tiblies!) Have a great week!

  34. Happy 3rd WOYWW Birthday! It is interesting to read the things you gained from WOYWW around the world. It's great to gawp at all the desks and no doubt you always get so chuffed to see such lovely fun things and meet up in cyber space with great folk!

  37. OH no! Sorry I missed out on the ATC swap! It isn't horribly expensive for a letter to the UK or elsewhere but it looks like your envelopes are fat so extra postage may be charged. Sorry I am so late getting by but figured better late then never!! Happy 3rd Anniversary of WOYWW! Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. Vickie #178
