However, I love the technique despite the mess, but I am still learning tons of things!
My first attempt, using vinegar in the water as I steamed the paper. You can see the lightly defined leaf prints. I loved it so much I've already drawn on the paper. The paper comes from a Arnold Grummer Tall Zig Zag book. The drawing was done with my Stabillo pastel pencils, I must say the paper held up VERY well considering it was steamed and then rubbed a lot with my finger during the pastel part
I need to break down and order alum and some proper kitchen tools like a steamer.
But this is my third attempt using Miracle grow brushed onto the paper, then steamed with botanicals layered between the sheets of paper. This is still wet, but I couldn't wait to take a picture of it and it will be a good way to compare the prints once the paper has dried for how it fades. It's going to become the cover of my my book for the above picture. I'll show another picture once it's completed.

Hi Sandee. I have been wondering what you've been doing. I see you continue to branch out and try new things. I really like how you can see the leaves in the first piece of paper. Your nude drawing is quite impressive too.
I had my left knee totally replaced in June and have been recovering from that. Really haven't done much crafting of any kind for a while now but I'm ready to get back to it.

I love it!!! The drawing is awesome too. Not sure I understand the whole process with the vinegar and steaming but I love it.
I can't wait to see the finished project. It seems like a tedious process. You did an awesome job on your pastel drawing!I love leaves and collecting them in the Fall. I have a tray full that I preserved with Silica Gel. I would love to figure out what to do with them. I was going to frame some.

Going to be gathering materials at the beach to do this technique....I'm going to need a trailer to take everything I want!
It's not really tedious for me, I love gathering the materials up and then seeing how everything works together.

On your trip to the beach if it is salt water, take along some fabric to mordant in sea water and try some water color paper also. Just anchor them down and let them soak in the water while you do other things. Dry when you get hoe, and they are pre-mordanted.
